I really wanted to love my Clingo. The design is clean, the green sticky pad seems like cool technology, and it did the job really well when I first got it. However, I discovered two major problems. First, the suction cup is unreliable below certain temperatures. Once the temp dropped below 50 degrees F, the weight of my phone would cause the suction break (I used the Clingo with the included 3M pad adhered to my dashboard). BTW, I have one of the smallest smartphones on the market, the HTC Aria, so I don't think it was my phone's fault. I emailed Allsop about my problem and they very kindly replaced that part for me. Unfortunately, the replacement suction cup was even worse. It didn't even stick to the glass surfaces in my house. The second problem, however, was much worse and the reason why I have to give the Clingo 1 star. As the weather started to get hot (or perhaps as it started to get old), the Clingo pad began to leave a sticky residue on my phone. I do use a case on my phone and it's possible that contributed to the deterioration of the pad. But regardless, I can't recommend a product meant to be used in a non-climate controlled place (car) that appears to have a usable temperature range of 50-80 degrees F.

It worked very well for about three months before the green "sticky" part became actually sticky and failed to let go. This was on a hotter day in January. Previous to this it was amazing and held any phone/mp3 player I stuck to it. It sometimes was harder to pull items off on warmer days (pointing the AC up for a few helped this) so its complete meltdown was no surprise.
